Terrific Tuesday!

Today was a great day to be in 4th grade! We were busy learning and still having a great time!  A big thank you for getting 100% participation in the Education First Goal Setting.  Our class will go into a drawing for a classroom raffle.

Please look for the Lansing permission slip by the end of the week I (Mrs. Strong) thought I could get it done this afternoon.  Oops!  I was wrong.

We are excited to inform you about an exciting enrichment program Mrs. Murray has initiated for the 4th grade.  It is called "Book Chats."  Basically it is a book club that meets during lunch to discuss a selected title.  Please be assured that the children will not miss any recess time.  All students will have an opportunity to participate throughout the year.  Mrs. Murray will be sending home a detailed letter in the near future.

Homework:

Enjoy the beautiful weather and time with your family! In other words, there is no homework!!!

Welcome to a new week!

Greetings from the 4th grade!  There is so much going on this week.  We had our spelling pretest today and the spelling packets went home.  Please have your child study so he or she is ready for their test on Friday.

This Thursday is our Art Prize field trip.  We have plenty of chaperones for this trip (Stephanie Stotts, Lora Bennett, Clare Portinga, Wendy Moore and Jackie Wesche).  Please check to see if your child will want hot lunch on Thursday.  We need to get a count to Mrs. Renee by tomorrow.

Next week Thursday will be our field trip to Lansing.  We will be taking a charter bus to the Capitol.  Home and School will be picking up the majority of this cost, however we are asking each student to pitch in $5.00.  If this is a problem, please let Mrs. Gage know.  We will be leaving at approximately 8:30 AM and returning right before 3:00 pick-up.  Please remember to send a bagged lunch and drink (no soda please) with your child on that day.  There is also a gift shop that your child may shop in after lunch.  Permission slips for this field trip will go home tomorrow.

MAPS testing started today.  It will go on throughout this week and next.  4th graders have only four sessions so not to worry!  They are not testing everyday.

Homework:
Spelling packet
Read for 20 mins.
Practice multiplication facts, 7s specifically.

Have a great evening!
